sad to hear that alex chilton, who wrote one of my favorite songs, thirteen (famously covered by the late elliott smith among others), passed away yesterday. he was 59.

tree sweaters
someone, dubbed the midnight knitter, in the town of West Cape May, New Jersery, is covering tree branches and lamp poles with little sweaters! they have also created sweet little duds for stop signs, hydro poles and public telephone cords......amazing!

the haimster...RIP
It's a sad day for us kids of the 80's as teen heartthrob and tiger beat pin-up boy, Corey Haim, died this morning of an accidental drug overdose.
Tonight i'll break out my best slouch socks, sport a side ponytail and cuddle up to my favourite boglin as i watch The Lost Boys for the hundredth time :(

RIP Mark Linkous
Rolling Stone confirmed yesterday that singer-songwriter Mark Linkous, frontman of the U.S-based band Sparklehorse, has committed suicide.
His family has released a statement reading, "It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and family member, Mark Linkous, took his own life today. We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts. May his journey be peaceful, happy and free. There's a heaven and there’s a star for you."
