this past weekend the 5th annual come up to my room alternative design event took place at the gladstone hotel in toronto.

check out the souvenir shop online.....

i did a series of posters for the shop inspired by the colourful language of my home province...

"love in a canoe" posters
A recent global study chose traditional Newfoundland speech as the most distinct variety of English on the planet. The language is comprised of a blend of vocabulary embellished with insightful and colourful sayings. With rapid urbanization, the collapse of the traditional fishery and Newfoundland’s integration into the Canadian cultural mainstream, this language is slowly dying.

These posters, printed in gold-coloured ink, are an attempt to preserve and showcase the humorous sayings that add richness to Newfoundland culture and tradition.
